Ann McGill is one of the main anchors at Live 5 News - WCSC TV in Charleston.  She delivers the news of the day at noon and in the evening, Monday through Friday.  She has been a part of Live 5 News for more than 23 years.  

She grew up in Nesmith in Williamsburg County on a Farm. She is the youngest of seven children.

Ann has received numerous awards and honors for her work as a journalist.  The following include her highest accomplishments.

In 2024, She was voted the Best Anchor in Charleston by followers of the Charleston City Paper...and that same year, her work won first place for Breaking News from the South Carolina Broadcasters Association, for coverage of the shooting at the beach on the Isle of Palms during high school senior skip day.

In 2023, her peers named runner up for Best Anchor in North Carolina And South Carolina by the Radio and Television Digital News Association of the Carolinas.

In 2021, she earned runner up for Best Anchor by the South Carolina Broadcasters Association. 

In 2013, she was named to the Williamsburg County Hall of Fame by her hometown school district, for being an outstanding and inspirational leader. 

She was also voted as Best Anchor in the Lowcountry in 2010 and 2011 by fans of the Black Expo.

As a longtime member of Royal Missionary Baptist Church in North Charleston, she serves as a deaconess and youth church teacher.  

Ann lends her time and talent to numerous organizations around the Lowcountry.

She currently serves on the Dorchester 2 Educational Foundation board which supports students and teachers in Dorchester School District Two.

She is a former board member of the Charleston Trident Urban League.

Ann is married to Gregory McGill and they have three children, and one grandchild. 
She is an alumnus of the University of South Carolina.
